While this is the first time that the Scottish Open has been a co-sanctioned event, it’s been played since 1972 and the last three editions were all at The Renaissance Club. Here are the best players in the field at this course:
Scottie’s Silly Slump
Yes, I know Scottie Scheffler is in the midst of a historic season. He’s already earned more money in a season than anyone in PGA TOUR history. However, when I look at his stats, I’m still in shock.
Scheffler is actually slumping with his putter. Over his last six events, he’s lost 0.31 total strokes with his flatstick. In the six events prior, he gained 21.82 strokes with the putter. He’s basically a full shot worse per round during the slump.
Here’s the problem — during the “slump” he has (2) runner-up finishes, a T13, a T15 and a T18. That’s wild.
